So I'm trying to improve my photographic skills and I decided that the 100 words challenge is a good place to start. However, my first language is not English, so i decided to translate all the words into Romanian. I've posted the list with the words in English and Romanian so everybody can compare the two languages:

The rules

1.) Make 100 pics each pic having a theme listed below. Each pic should have ONE and only ONE theme to it, for it to count.

2.) No time limit so have fun

3.) The main picture should be drawn but not limited to. for all fair purposes, people are allowed to use their paint programs and photo shop to create the pic.

3a.) pics should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the Da etiquette policy. Your pics can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it.

4.) The list below is to be placed somewhere in your journal for others to see that......

I am sorry for all those of you who are British and who are reading this entry, it's not good news about your country. My year in Manchester is finished and I returned to Romania about a month and so ago. The whole MA is over and I can relax once more. I have to be honest and say that this has been a very hard year, not because I had to work at the University but because of the whole country and city.

When I left Romanian I had the impression that Romanians are indecent, and uneducated but the British experience has showed me how wrong I was. I saw British women act like the most drunken and filthy Romanian men that you can find in bad neighborhoods like Ferentari (Bucharest) and being proud of that. They dress like (please excuse my language) whores and act like them. I saw men so drunk and so violent that I had to run away. I saw people taking drugs in the middle of the day in the city center at Piccadilly Gardens in the middle of the day while children were playing 2 meters away from them. The pictures in the link show the reality, they are not staged. I saw scenes like that every week. I can bare with garbage around the streets but not with human filth.

This is not civilization. Along the way the difference between liberty and libertinage has been lost and now people make a confusion between the two. People in Britain are lost and fallen. The human degradation has reached such a level, that it cannot be fixed.

In Britain there are surveillance cameras everywhere, even in very small villages. This does not stop the people from being violent and commit crimes. I remember how once a friend of mine told me after visiting USA: Civilization is not visible in how much technology is displayed, but rather in the human conscience, where there is not violence and no technology. The real surveillance camera is your conscience.

I'm sorry again to those that are British, but you society has a lot of problems. Your civilization is gone, almost nothing remains out of it.

  So, it's going to be a few days now until I get back to Romania for another month and after that I will have to spend only 4 more months in Manchester before the whole crazy year is finally over. It's funny that i had to travel and live 4000 km away from my country to actually fully appreciate it. During this whole time I've tried to find out what the British identity is, meaning to fin out what it a British, and all I could find was: heavy drinking, violence, consumerism, individualism (not that that's entirely bad, but it seems that British are unable to put themselves in someone's shoes) etc. Nothing that I could identify with a British spirit. I haven't given up the search yet and who knows, maybe by the end of the year I can find something.

This year, i've learned more patience than in any other year of my life. It has always been a series of waiting for me from the first day I've arrived in Manchester without any bags,torrential rain and with the lock on my door not working at all. So yes, after 6 months I can now love my country as I should have done in the past. The people are great (thou a bit depressed all the time), the food is wonderful and the weather is perfect (a british told me that the weather in Romania is perfect, and guess what, it is. )

So good bye Mordor for another month, the Shire awaits for my return

I've noticed over the past 4 years of dA how things have changed. Everything is getting busier by the minute. The new groups have been made to ensure that more works are getting more exposure. I remember when i had to send notes with my works to the group in order to get it in, and i had to write on the deviation page the fact that i allow that group to submit my work. Now things are different the automatic system makes things easier, you just press the button and presto: it's there.

Don't get me wrong..i actually enjoy the new group system, it makes me more active on dA . However, because of the new sistems, I can't help but notice that people don't write as often as they did before . I've spent a few minutes around my gallery, moving junk to scraps, and I've noticed that i used to get more comments on my deviations 3 years ago than i get now. Forgive me for being narcisistic, but i don't thing that my pics are getting worse.

So i've started to comment on a lot of submissions, because i miss them. About 3 years ago, i wasn't getting that many favs, but i was getting a lot of comments. Somehow i think that's more human commenting rather than fav-ing; it makes a connection with that person.

Anyways...enaugh complaining...i've been submitting a lot lately, but that is only because i want to use the dA portfolio, and it's easier to put work directly form the gallery.

Another thing...nobody cought my 20 000 kiriban... so the firs person that can send me a note because he wants a print from my gallery, i'll send it to himher.

The reason i'm doing this is because i have respiratory problems so i can't use my voice to sing

I've restarted taking more pictures this year witch is a good thing. Because it keeps me practicing. I also decided that i need to read more books about cmposition in paintings.

Anyway....to the part that you guys might be interested in: i want to make a kiriban for my 20.000 page views, whoever is interested in catching it, i'll give him/her a print of their ghoice from my gallery, size : 13/18 cm that's about 7/5 inches. I know it's not big but if you live over seas, it will get there in one piece.
